As the Sprint draws to a close, the Montane Winter Spine Race roars into action. Starting on a beautifully crisp morning, it was perfect running conditions. As expected, a collective group of the elites battle it out right from the start. Whilst they’re currently pacing ahead of the course record, we know there is a long way to go. Our runners have 168 hours to cover the 268 miles from Edale to Kirk Yetholm.

In the Challenger South and MRT Challenge South, podiums positions are beginning to settle. Our competitors have 60 hours to complete the course and many will be running through the night to beat the 8pm (Challenger South) and 8.30pm (MRT) cut off on Monday.

You can watch all the action from the day in Episode Two of our daily highlights.
