Alice Kershaw has claimed the final podium place on this year’s Summer Spine Race, taking 3rd Female. Despite the close competition from Sue Straw, Alice didn’t concern herself with the standings. She came with a plan and executed it expertly. She was consistently strong throughout and had an immensely positive attitude that carried her through the tough times.

Alice also finished 2nd in the Winter Spine Challenger South in January making this her second #spinerace podium of the year, a rare and exceptional performance. Huge congratulations to Alice.

We are now into the final 24 hours of the race. With 1 minute to spare, Lisa Wright our final runner, made the 18:00 cut off at Bellingham. Lisa made a sprint into the checkpoint with a Formula One style kit check completed and was back out on the trail.

It is now The Cheviots that stand between our runners and the finish line.

Saturday 20:00 is the deadline.
